Event-Cue Cards

Are you a person who loves occasions? Or then again, you are somebody who thinks that they are exhausting. Well, whichever classification you fall under, the occasion is a significant topic in your IELTS cue cards segment, and there is no choice for you to skip it.

The examiner may ask you to describe an event from the past in which you were successful. You have to utilise your experience and make a list of points you want to cover while speaking. Even if you don’t have much to recall, use your imagination and put it into words. Some vocabulary you might consider here are:

  • Look forward:
to feel excited for
  • Procrastinate:
wait to do something until the last minute
  • Spontaneous:
unplanned
  • Rough plan:
an idea but not a strict plan
  • Brainstorm:
think of ideas

You might also be asked to describe the various emotions you felt about an event, like an event you felt happy about or another that made you sad. In this case, you could make the best use of synonyms. Here are some:

Sad awful miserable terrible blue heavy-hearted
Happy cheerful merry joyful sunny blissed out

The point here is that you should not get diverted by your feelings, rather you need to outline great sentences. It’s just with regards to how you talk and what you talk about. Great control of language structure holds a significant part here.
